FA Marketing Manager visits students
Sports students were treated to a very special visit this week, Victoria Wing, the Senior Marketing Manager from the FA came along to talk about her career successes.
Students were granted the opportunity to meet Victoria Wing, which included an insight into her career and a talk about a possible career pathways into sports marketing.
Victoria has spent over eight years working in the branding department at the FA and her roles include branding for the England Squad, strategic marketing for ticket sales at Wembley and running the England Supporters Club. She also has previous links to Ford where she worked alongside the FA sponsorship team for ten years.
Victoria gave the students a fantastic insight into the business side of the sporting world and how they could start a career in the industry.
Victoria said: “My job is exciting. Anybody interested in sports marketing should definitely involve themselves in local clubs and volunteering in the FA. Marketing is great because it serves a whole company. It’s a great industry for young people, the average age in my office is around 28.”
Victoria then added: “The FA look for passionate people with volunteering experience. I can’t express how important it is to have a good CV”
