Computer Technologies students design website
Our Foundation Degree Computer Technologies students have been producing a brand new website for Silver Screen Services, a local minibus hire company.
Jonathan Keen, Daniel Maydom and Tim Abbot have been working on the website for the past two months. They recently had their first meeting with the director of Silver Screen Services, Steve Clarke, where they discussed the content for the website and demonstrated how it works.
The students explained that they’ve taken the knowledge from the web development module of their course and applied it to a real life example.
Jonathan said, “We’ve had some minor issues along the way however we’ve resolved them in recent weeks and gained a variety of new skills. It’s a great opportunity for us and we’ve gained crucial experience, which will prepare us for entering the world of work.”
Steve Clarke was pleased with the website, saying: “The guys have been brilliant! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the process and the students have taken the project forward in the right direction, developing their skills along the way. This is the first time I’ve seen the website and I’m really impressed.”
The website will be up and running in the next few weeks.
