College Sports Maker wins the Service to FE/HE Sport award!
The annual Hertfordshire Service to Sport Awards evening took place on Thursday 1 December 2016 at the University of Hertfordshire. The evening was presented by David Croft (Sky Sports F1 Commentator) and special guests included, Nicki Combaro (Team GB Physiotherapist), Fiona Pennie (Team GB Canoe Slalom) and Jamie Burton (Channel 4 Rio Journalist).
We are delighted to announce that West Herts College’s Sports Maker, Thomas Klymkiw won the Service to FE/HE Sport award! This award recognises individuals at Hertfordshire FE colleges and higher education institutions who have made an outstanding contribution to sport at their place of study or work.
Since joining the College as Sports Maker, Thomas has been dedicated to enhance students College experience by ensuring they have the change to participate in an array of sports and activities.
We spoke to Thomas after the awards, still in shock he explained: “I had no idea I would win the award, let alone be in the top 3!”
Winning this prestigious award means Thomas has:
- Inspired others to start and enjoy sport and physical activity at College
- Used unique skills to help fellow students or staff remain participants of sport for life
- Encouraged others to volunteer on the College sports programme
Congratulations again Thomas – a thoroughly deserved win!
