College donate to local foodbank

Staff at West Herts College have come together to a provide a donation to Watford foodbank, ahead of the Christmas period.

Watford foodbank is an independent registered charity working with local churches, agencies and community groups, to stop hunger in and around the Watford area.

Chantelle Smith, Student Support Advisor at the college, encouraged colleagues to join her in gathering items with their own donation boxes.

Chantelle said: “A little from many can make such a huge difference. It’s great to see everyone making a huge effort to help the local community.”

Gill Harman, who works with the LRC team, joined Chantelle in gathering everyone together.

Gill said: “The food and essential products donated will really make a difference to those in the local community accessing food bank services during this Christmas and New Year period. It was just fabulous to see just how much staff at the college have donated to this really worth cause.”
