Career success for Sports students
The sport and leisure industry is extremely varied with a large number of employment opportunities. Gaining a qualification in sport will prepare you for a career in a wide range of private and public sector organisations.
Former West Herts College Sports students have been celebrating success in the industry...
After completing his studies at West Herts College, Rafael was offered a job as a fitness instructor at Pump Gyms. He is now a Personal Trainer and running bootcamp classes.
Rafael told us "Choosing the Active IQ course was one of the best decisions I've ever made. At the end of the course I felt extremely motivated, and fully prepared to begin a career in fitness."
Since leaving West Herts College, Layla gained work experience in various gyms around Watford. Layla now works at the Grove Hotel as a fitness instructor and has gained Spin and Aqua qualifications. Layla told us "West Herts College helped me gain the confidence I need in the working world - even after I had left College, they sent me regular emails with the latest job opportunities in my field, this is how I found out about my job now!"
Carly recently completed the Active IQ course. During his time at College, Carly gained work experience in the gym at David Lloyd. This resulted in Cary progressing to a full time Duty Manager at William Penn Leisure Centre. Cary also delivers gym inductions, programmes and fitness classes.
