Career success for Centre of Football Excellence students
The West Herts College Football Programme helps develop the potential of young footballers, setting them on the path towards their future goals. Students are part of the team while studying towards a BTEC Level 2 or Level 3 Extended Diploma in sport.

Matthew Watt (pictured below)
Matt was an excellent student on the West Herts Football Programme for 2 years. Whilst studying at the College he completed his Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport, his FA Level 1 Coaching Badge as well as his FA Emergency Aid & FA Safeguarding qualifications. He developed not only as a footballer but also as a person by improving his life skills through positive GAP experiences and high quality teaching & coaching. This lead to him becoming employed by Watford FC CSE Trust and working as a casual coach in schools, on holiday courses and at their Player Development Centres. He continues to progress as a coach and aims to come back and work on the football schemes in the future.
Scholarships to America
Hard work and dedication during his time at College enabled Alfie to be successful in his application to Martins Methodist College, Tennessee.
After completing his studies at West Herts College, Jerry was offered a scholarship to play for Bethel University, Minneapolis.
Offered a £200,000 scholarship to play for New York City based, Harwick College. Max will combine his studies in Business with his soccer skills during his time stateside.
Finished in June 2016 and is currently studying Psychology at Bournemouth University.

Finished in June 2016 and is currently studying Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management at University of Westminster.
Finished in June 2014 and is currently in his 3rd year of Sports Studies at University of Hertfordshire, coming back to do his dissertation with the footballers and their FA level 1 coaching badge.
Finished in June 2016 and is currently on the Active IQ at West Herts College.

Finished in June 2016 and is currently on the Foundation Degree in Sports Studies at West Herts College.
Selected recently for the Trinidad and Tobago Under 23 Olympic squad and training with Bristol City’s youth team in the hope of a pro contract.
