California waiting for travel student
Laura Johnson achieved D*D*D* in Level 3 Travel and Tourism and also took the reins as General Manager at the Hilton Watford Hotel as part of her GAP work experience. Laura is moving on to study Event and Tourism Management at University of Hertfordshire and for the second half of her four year programme she will study at UCLA. Work experience also makes up a big part of her degree course and Laura will be in with a chance of taking on an events role at Walt Disney World in California.
Laura said: “I loved my course; we went on a trip to New York which inspired me to pursue studying abroad as part of my degree. My tutors and the Student Support team were always so encouraging and really helped me with my university application.
“It was a great opportunity to shadow the general manager for my GAP experience, particularly within a company the size of Hilton. They’ve also offered me a job there as a waitress, which will help while I’m at university.”
