Beauty Students support John Lewis Christmas shopping event
In recent weeks our Beauty Therapy students have been supporting John Lewis’ Christmas Shopping events by offering mini-manicures to customers. The store was closed to the public for the events and opened exclusively to myjohnlewis card holders. The beauty treatments were greatly appreciated and also gave our students the chance to develop their existing skills.
Our students were involved throughout and they completed numerous manicures, including painting customer’s nails. As well as being pampered by our Level 2 and 3 Beauty Therapy students, the card holders were treated to drinks and nibbles whilst a fashion show was taking place, with a live band playing in the background.
Beauty Therapy tutor, Mary Borman, said: “It was a great evening! The students threw themselves at the opportunity and received great feedback from the organisers. Some of our Level 2 students have only just started the course yet they were extremely professional and did really well on the day.”
The students are booked in to help out at two more events having received excellent feedback from Claire Gilbert, the Regional Learning Facilitator for John Lewis. She said: “We’re really thankful for the support we received from the students. They were all fantastic and all the customers really enjoyed being pampered.”
Every student earned a certificate of participation, whilst gaining valuable workplace experience that will count towards their GAP hours.
