Art and Design Private View
Our Art and Design students have been busy in recent weeks preparing for our Summer Art and Design Exhibition as well as our Fashion Show. The show provides a great opportunity to celebrate all the hard work put in by our students.
The show saw many local businesses, College staff, students and their families gathered to view the fantastic work that the students had produced over the last academic year.
The exhibition was a private viewing event on the night, however the work had been on display as part of the Summer Show for Two weeks’ prior.
Head of Art and Design, Brett Clarke, was delighted with the student’s work, saying “We are very proud of our summer show and the work our students have produced for it. It is a great celebration of the hard work, focus and dedication of our students. Watford is fast becoming a centre for Arts & Culture and we are incredibly proud to be at the heart of this in developing outstanding emerging artists.”
Whilst the exhibition was taking place, our Food Academy students prepared nibbles to serve to our guests. After the exhibition was finished, visitors made their way to our catwalk runway in the TV Studio. Two of our Level 3 Production Arts Students, Sam Barnes and Joe Queralt, were involved in the majority of the setup.
Once the Fashion Show commenced our students impressed the crowds in the theatre, both with their outfits and their well-practiced catwalks. A variety of innovative and stylish looks were modelled, all of which were designed and created by our students over the course of the year. Collections included Sustainability,
Eco-Friendly Fashion, The Hunger Games, The Breakfast Club and Votes for Women.
The whole evening was a great success and congratulations go out to all the students who were involved!
