Meet Hans, a Level 3 Applied Science Student at West Herts College with a passion for the universe.
His journey into college life has been both exciting and transformative. Having been homeschooled until he joined our college, Hans experienced a major shift moving into an academic environment, filled with new faces and hands on learning opportunities. He described it as a “jump in social interaction” but Hans quickly found that this new social environment helped him make new friends and build connections.
In addition to the social aspect, one of Hans’ favourite parts of the Applied Science course has been the hands-on practical's and experiments. Setting up Bunsen burners, working on distillation setups, and conducting other lab activities have made science come to life in ways he hadn’t experienced before.
“The labs are fully equipped, and the facilities are great,” also adding that the lab technicians have been incredibly helpful, offering support and guidance along the way.
Hans’ journey is a perfect example of how our college provides students with the support and experiences they need to turn their potential into reality. From well-equipped labs to a welcoming campus, our college is proud to help students like Hans pursue their passions.
