Entry Criteria
4 GCSEs (A*-C/9-4) including English, or Level 2 Diploma in Performing Arts.
Don't meet the grades? Take a look at the Level 2 Diploma in Performing Arts for a solid understanding of key areas - you will be able to progress to the Level 3 upon successful completion.
You will also be invited to a Course Introduction Meeting and showcase your talents to our course tutors.

What will I study?
You’ll be learning through practical assignments and the study of performance arts disciplines.
Exploring Performance Styles You will learn a variety of practical acting techniques, underpinned with theoretical knowledge of different performance techniques and the historical context of the subject.
Creating Performance Material You will use the skills that you develop to create performance material, working towards both devised and scripted performances in a range of styles including Children’s Theatre.
Performing as an Actor as part of an ensemble You’ll perform various productions in College and at local theatres, taking your work to live audiences across or community. Alongside exploring the work of prominent practitioners, researching, analysing and contextualising their work.
Planning a career in the Performing Arts Industry You will learn about the foundations and developments of the performing arts industry, employment opportunities, future of the industry and your place within it once you complete your course and move on to work, Drama School or Higher Education.
Assessment is taken in class and during performance, backed up with theory work and reflective journals, blogs, vlogs, films or log books.

Further study options include degrees in Performing Arts or a professional diploma in drama school focusing on musical theatre. Possible careers include professional theatre, film and TV acting – for private and commercial organisations.
