Entry Criteria
3 GCSEs (A*-D/9-3) including English, or a Level 1 Diploma in a related field, you’ll also need to provide evidence of your interest in creating music. You will also be invited to attend a course introduction meeting.

What will I study?
Core subjects include:
• PA systems - understand and operate the concert PA systems required for most of today’s music performances.
• Recording techniques - become familiar with recording technology and techniques that will reinforce musical practice as well as developing important skills for progression.
• Developing music theory - explore various music theories and understand the links between the theory and practical application
• Music skill development - broaden your musical knowledge and skills by developing your knowledge and practical technique across a broad range of musical practices
• Live event managementSpecialist modules include:
• Music business - the role of the individual, where there is a need for business and entrepreneurship skills
• Music sequencing and composing - studying in our recording and editing suites, using the latest computing technology including Logic Pro and Pro Tools for music making. -
Future Prospects
Successful completion opens the door to progress to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Practice or Creative Music Production. You'll continue to hone your skills and prepare you for a univeristy degree or HND Music here at college. Possible careers include music performer, sound engineer, songwriter, producer and music teacher.
