Entry Criteria
3 GCSEs (A*-D/9-3), or successful completion of Level 1 programme. You will need to complete a DBS check.

What will I study?
Subject areas include:

Lifespan development - explore physical, intellectual, emotional and social development across the human lifespan, and the factors affecting development and the effects of ageing

Individual needs - establish the principles and practicalities that underpin meeting individuals’ care and support needs, which are the foundation of all the care disciplines

Communicating in the health and social care sector - identify sources of information and support or services to enable more effective communication

Anatomy and physiology for health and social care - understand anatomy and physiology in relation to all forms of health and social care methods and procedures
Alongside your course you’ll study English and maths and take part in GAP work placements to develop your skills and confidence.

What can I do next?
Progress to Level 3 – further study and training will open the door to careers such as social work, residential care management, housing and the probation service.
Opportunities for employment straight away will include working in care homes, community work and the voluntary sector, plus classroom support, hospitals and primary care trusts.
