Entry Criteria
3 GCSEs (A*-D/9-3), including English or maths, or completion of a relevant Level 1 programme.
You will also be invited to a Course Introduction Meeting.

What will I study?
Areas of study include:

Advising and consulting with clients - learn the art of consultation with clients, using a variety of methods to clarify ideas and requirements for hair services

Shampooing and conditioning hair and scalp - develop the skill of shampooing and conditioning hair using a variety of products and massage techniques

Blow drying, setting and dressing hair - develop the skill of blow drying, finger drying and finishing techniques on a variety of hair types and lengths

Cutting and styling hair - create a variety of basic looks for women using club cutting, freehand and scissor-over-comb techniques

Hair colouring - gain the knowledge and artistic skill of using hair colour to create an effect
Alongside your course you’ll study English and maths and take part in GAP work placements to develop your skills and confidence.

What can I do next?
Further your studies with the Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing, or work as a junior in a salon, in television, on cruise ships or as a photographic session stylist.
