Supported Internship

Introduction

A Supported Internship is specifically aimed at young people aged 16-24 who have a statement of special educational needs, a Learning Difficulty Assessment, or an Education Health and Care plan, who want to move into employment and need extra support to do so.

It is a dynamic course that aims to propel young people who require support into the world of employment. Placements last for up to nine months – matching the College’s academic year – with the College working in partnership throughout to support our students.

Learners work with a Job Coach to learn the role and support is gradually decreased until they can work independently. Learners must have an EHCP and be able to travel independently.
