Next Steps
Introduction
Next Steps is a non-accredited exit course that aims to further develop the skills needed for adult life as learners prepare to leave education. It provides learners with opportunities to apply the skills they have already acquired at college in new settings, through community provision and volunteering.
This course is suitable for young people who have completed a range of qualifications at Entry Level. This 3-day-a-week College programme has a strong emphasis on building in relevant experiences on other days. Teaching is in small groups, supported by experienced Learning Advisors. Students are taught through a series of practical activities, using both the College and the community. There will be an emphasis on developing skills for life and work. All students will be offered work experience and this will be developed according to the needs of the individual.
