This course aims to prepare students for life in the community, designed to develop core skills that will support them to live independently and engage with activities.

We offer Life Skills Pathways at Entry Level 1 and Entry Level 2.

  • Entry Criteria

We work hard to ensure that all of our students are placed on the level that is most appropriate for them, you can find the typical profile of our students by level below.

    Entry Level 1

Those working at pre-entry within stages 8-10 on the achievement continuum may also be able to access this course. Students may be able to work at Entry 2 in some areas, but have barriers to learning e.g. self-regulation, self-help skills, engagement. Students are likely to require a high ratio of support to access both learning and the college environment. Students typically arrive by taxi and require ALL (support at arrival, lunch and leave), they may require a total communication approach. Students with an Educational Health and Care Plan will require a review of their plan to ensure that the college can meet their specific needs and provide a suitable environment for learning.

    Entry Level 2

This course is designed for school leavers working at Entry 2. Students may be able to work at Entry 3 in some areas, but have barriers to learning e.g. self-regulation, self-help skills, engagement. Students are likely to require a high ratio of support to access both learning and the college environment. Students typically arrive by taxi and require ALL (support at arrival, lunch and leave). Students with an Educational Health and Care Plan will require a review of their plan to ensure that the college can meet their specific needs and provide a suitable environment for learning.
