Job opportunities are extensive. Most of us know about one part of the plasterer’s work: the applying of wet finishes to walls, ceilings and floors. This is called solid plastering. There’s also fibrous plastering, which involves making ornamental plasterwork in a workshop or on site – the kind of plasterwork you see on the ceilings of decorative buildings.
Course subjects focus on:
-
Applying plaster materials to internal surfaces
-
Fixing dry lining and plasterboard products to interiors
-
Applying render materials to external surfaces
-
Forming sand and cement screeds
-
Positioning and securing fibrous plaster components
You will develop your practical English and maths skills by planning volume of materials you need, as well as other practical exercises.
