NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
Introduction
This qualification will provide you with an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children or young people in primary, secondary or specialist schools. You will learn about children and young people’s development, safeguarding their welfare and communication. This course is suitable for teaching or learning support assistants in a school role or newly in post. Gain a teaching and learning qualification giving you the skills and confidence you need to progress your career. Appropriate school experience is required.

Entry Criteria
There are no formal entry qualifications. However, the following are recommended:

At least 16 years old

GCSE English (minimum D-G grades) or an equivalent Level 1

At least 6 months prior experience of working 2 full days a week in a school (Reception class upwards)

A reference from an employer or professional person to recommend you for this course

Confirmation of a placement within a school (Reception class upwards) for at least 2 full days a week throughout the duration of the course

A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
Our part-time provision is designed primarily for adult students, aged 19 and over. Students aged 16 to 18 may be allowed to enrol on the course at the discretion of the Head of Admissions and Head of School. If you have any queries please contact our admissions team on 01923 812345. -

What will I study?

If you are aged 24 and over, your fees for this course will be £1,405. You may be able to apply for an Advanced Learning Loan from the Government to help with the costs for your course.
