Level 1 Award in Performing Arts: Dance
Introduction
This course aims to introduce learners to dance skills through participation in practical workshops and the rehearsal and performance of a dance piece. In tutor-led workshops learners will develop their physical skills, becoming stronger, more flexible and physically aware. They will develop their movement memory and learn how dancers move by observing and copying their tutor. They will also learn how to develop focus and concentration and working cooperatively with tutors and peers.

Entry Criteria
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
Our part-time provision is designed primarily for adult students, aged 19 and over. Students aged 16 to 18 may be allowed to enrol on the course at the discretion of the Head of Admissions and Head of School. If you have any queries please contact our admissions team on 01923 812345. -
What will I study?
Learners will work with their tutor on the preparation of a dance piece in any style, which will be choreographed by the tutor. The culmination of the course will be a devised performance.
