Introduction
This course is suitable for complete beginners or those who have a very limited knowledge of French.
This course is intended for anyone interested in communicating more effectively with French speakers, perhaps when on holiday in France or in French speaking countries. It will also provide a good base on which to build on to study the language further.

Entry Criteria
No prior knowledge of French is required.
Our part-time provision is designed primarily for adult students, aged 19 and over. Students aged 16 to 18 may be allowed to enrol on the course at the discretion of the Head of Admissions and Head of School. If you have any queries please contact our admissions team on 01923 812345. -
What will I study?
You will cover a range of useful topics including some or all of the following:

Greetings

Ordering food and drink
-
Finding your way around

Shopping
-
Dealing with common travel problems
There will be some flexibility to tailor the specific topic areas to the needs of the particular group.
Some basic grammar will be introduced, although the focus will be on oral communication.
No materials other than a pen and paper are necessary. It is strongly recommended that the vocabulary and phrases studied each week are reviewed between classes in order to get the most out of this course.

What can I do next?
You will finish this course feeling confident in your conversational French, students may wish to take their studies further and will search for an intermediate French course.
Alternatively, you could broaden your bi-lingual vocabulary further by taking up our Introduction to Spanish course.
