Introduction
This course is designed to teach learners the basics of floristry, with an introduction to the tools used, care and conditioning of plant materials, the Principals and Elements of Design and a selection of different types of floral design, using flowers available at varying seasons throughout the year. The course is suitable for beginners to floristry. Beginner’s courses may be taken throughout the year, so that students have an opportunity to use flowers available in the different seasons.

Entry Criteria
Suitable for beginners who want to learn floristry techniques and designs. No formal entry qualifications are required.
Our part-time provision is designed primarily for adult students, aged 19 and over. Students aged 16 to 18 may be allowed to enrol on the course at the discretion of the Head of Admissions and Head of School. If you have any queries please contact our admissions team on 01923 812345. -

Contemporary arrangement
Table topiary design
Types of buttonhole – wired
Twin designs
Oval table centre
Decorative posy pad
Cost of flowers is approximately £10-£15 each week
Details of the floral requirements for the first week will be sent nearer the start date. Tutor will have wires, tape, oasis and containers in class to purchase if required. Students are encouraged to keep a portfolio of their designs each week.
