English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
ESOL Level 1
Introduction
This is a City and Guilds qualification course for people who are able to speak, read and write English confidently but want to improve their accuracy and depth of knowledge. This is a 32 week course and is held twice per week for three and a quarter hours. Please call us for more information about attending an assessment session or dates of new courses.

Entry Criteria
There are no entry criteria for this course, however there will be an interview and assessment so that we can find the level that is right for you.
You do not need to book an appointment to enrol on the course. Please remember to bring your passport, National Insurance Number and if applicable current proof of any means-tested benefit (dated within the last 14 days).
Help with tuition fees may be available if you receive certain means tested benefits.
Our part-time provision is designed primarily for adult students, aged 19 and over. Students aged 16 to 18 may be allowed to enrol on the course at the discretion of the Head of Admissions and Head of School. If you have any queries please contact our admissions team on 01923 812345. -
What will I study?
You will practise grammar, vocabulary, writing a variety of texts, reading for information, presenting information and listening for information. You will improve the skills you need for career progression, to move onto a vocational course or for further academic study.

After you have finished your course and depending on your progress, you can move on to a higher level course to improve your English.
