Hemel Hempstead campus is now the proud home of a dedicated welding training facility. This qualification has been developed to provide a broad based introduction to the practices and processes within welding. It also supports the development of personal skills and attributes that learners need in order to develop confidence in their ability to work, learn and achieve their full potential.

This qualification is for students who: • Want to start a career in welding engineering

• Are thinking about welding as a career but who would like some experience of the job role first

• Are new to welding

• Work in another aspect of welding engineering and require some practical training

  • What will I study?

    This course is largely of a practical nature with a small element of theory. It is designed to give you the practical skills for welding specific joints and the knowledge to understand welding safety, machinery set-up and welding terminology.

    There are three pathways, students will need to select their desired pathway as part of their enrolment to the course:

    1. Manual Metal Arc

    2. Metal Inert Gas

    3. Tungsten Inert Gas
