Take your creativity to the next level with this fun and challenging short course - extend your sewing skills to make more advanced garments. This could be a soft tailored jacket, a boned evening bodice or similar garment of your choice.

Entry Criteria
There are no formal entry criteria. However, knowledge of how to use a sewing machine and some sewing skills are needed on this intermediate course - not suitable for the complete beginner.
Our part-time provision is designed primarily for adult students, aged 19 and over. Students aged 16 to 18 may be allowed to enrol on the course at the discretion of the Head of Admissions and Head of School. If you have any queries please contact our admissions team on 01923 812345. -
What will I study?
You will be covering a number of areas, including:
- Using tools and equipment carefully and safely
- Selecting the fabric and pattern
- Basic sewing skills for tailoring
- Choice of interfacings
- Selecting and making up a garment from a pattern; if you don't want to make a tailored garment you could make any other garment of your choice
Garments are made from a commercial pattern.
The course content may vary and be adapted to meet the needs of the students and the individual tutor teaching.
