Introduction
The Access to Teaching course is a nationally recognised qualification designed for people who wish to enter the world of teaching, but who lack the formal qualifications required for direct entry into university study. You will be in college three days a week. All of our Access to Higher Education courses are accredited by Gateway.

Entry Criteria
You will need GCSEs (A*-C/9-4) in English and maths, as these are essential for progressing into a career in teaching. You may need to complete a range of assessments at interview.
All students are assessed for their English and maths skills at interview. Some universities require a pass in GCSE Science - please ensure that you have checked the requirements for your chosen career path with your preferred higher education institution.
Students must be aged 19 or older on 31st August to study Access to Higher Education courses.
Our part-time provision is designed primarily for adult students, aged 19 and over. Students aged 16 to 18 may be allowed to enrol on the course at the discretion of the Head of Admissions and Head of School. If you have any queries please contact our admissions team on 01923 812345. -
