Introduction
This course is designed for those focused on developing their professional skills & portfolio to an industry ready standard. The HND in Graphic Design is an internationally-recognised qualification, with a focus on the practical skills required to launch your Graphic Design career.
You will study a range of project based modules, that develop skills in typography, digital output, info graphics, packaging, motion graphics and editorial design. Students will be further prepared by core skills development in visual communication, responding to professional briefs & contextual studies.

Entry Criteria
You will need 48 UCAS points from an appropriate Level 3 qualification, such as a BTEC Level 3 qualification, an A-Level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject, or other related Level 3 qualifications. This profile is likely to be supported by GCSE grades at A* - D/9-3 in maths and English language (or equivalent).

What will I study?
You will develop the practical skills required to work successfully in the industry. In Year 1 you will study a range of units from the following.
Core units include: Professional Development Contextual Studies Individual Project (Pearson-set) Techniques & Processes
Specialist units include: Typography Graphic Design Practices
Optional units include: Packaging Design Communications in Art & Design
Year 2 will see you refine your skills on the following modules.
Core units include: Professional Practice Applied Practice Collaborative Project (Pearson-set)
Specialist units include: Advanced Graphic Design Studies
Optional units include: Branding & Identity Conceptual Practice Creative Industries Placement

What can I do next?
On completing the course you will have produced a professional portfolio, developed an online/social presence and exhibited your work. HNDs are recognised by employers across the country and provide students with invaluable practical experience to ready them for the world of work.
As well as being ready for employment, HND graduates have the opportunity to top-up their studies by progressing to the final year of a suitable degree programme.
