Teacher mentoring programme

Sue Hill, Tutor Mentor

West Herts College is committed to developing professional practice through a coaching and mentoring programme for our teaching staff to assist them in the development of their expertise.

All new teachers are fully supported by a Senior Practitioner, an experienced teacher who will act as their personal mentor.

Coaches & Mentors are selected for their excellence in teaching and learning and provide one to one support to help improve performance in planning, preparing and delivering personalised teaching sessions. In addition to personal support, West Herts offer a range of Toolkits to support new teachers and maximise the talents of existing professionals, delivered on a monthly basis.

This sharing of best practice and ideas helps our teachers grow and reach their full potential and ultimately benefits our learners in terms of results and outstanding achievements.
