Public access to Corporation meetings
The Corporation of West Herts College serves the college community and
welcomes anyone who wishes to observe part or all of its board meetings.
The Corporation is an active participant in the LSIS (Learning Skills
Improvement Service) LSG (Leadership Skills for Governance) Observer
Programme and also welcomes observers from other colleges who wish to see
board practice in action. Members of the public or observers from other
colleges who wish to attend all or part of a Corporation meeting are asked
to contact the Director of Governance in the first instance.

The Director will co-ordinate meeting access and the circulation of papers
relating to the items of meeting business that will be attended. The
Corporation is committed to openness and accountability and will make every
effort to meet access requests.
However, it is bound to refuse requests on the grounds of confidentiality
in accordance, for example, with the requirements of parliamentary acts
governing information such as Freedom of Information and Data Protection.

Committee meetings
No person other than a member of the Committee and/or the Director of Governance shall be entitled to attend meetings
of the Committee except at the invitation of the Committee.
