Visas and work permits
A Work Permit, a Visa, or both, may be required if you are not a citizen
of a European Economic Area (EEA) Country. Work Permits can only be
obtained for posts where there is no suitable applicant, (national to an
EEA Country).
The employer then has to prove that no suitable resident worker could be
appointed. Work Permits may not be issued for some jobs, for example,
administrative, clerical, secretarial or manual, as it is assumed resident
workers will always be available for these posts.
Individuals are responsible for supplying West Herts College with initial
documentation from the Home Office in order that West Herts College can
provide appropriate employer information with regards to the application.
