Are you eligible?

Train to Gain is designed to raise the skill levels of people who are in work but do not already hold a Level 2 qualification.

Therefore if you have or are studying any of the following qualifications or a higher level qualification, we're sorry but you will not be eligible for Train to Gain funding for a further NVQ Level 2 qualification.

Employees

Train to Gain is available free of charge to all employees aged 19-64 that do not already have a full Level 2 qualification.

What is a Level 2 Qualification?

Level 2 qualifications could be any of the following but this list is not exhaustive:

School / College Qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs (grades A-C) or O Levels
  • 5 CSE Grade 1s
  • 1 or more A Levels
  • 2 AS Levels

Vocational (work related) Qualifications

  • BTEC General Certificate / Diploma with Credit
  • HND / HNC
  • Edexcel / BTEC 1st Diploma or higher
  • C&G Higher Operative or Craft
  • GNVQ Intermediate or higher
  • NVQ Level 2, 3 or 4
  • Access Course

Employers

Employers must have fewer than 5,000 UK based employees (sub-companies within a larger corporate group that has more staff than this may still be eligible).
