Our students are valued as individuals and encouraged as
We are a general FE college with campuses in Dacorum, Kings Langley and
Watford. At our most recent Ofsted inspection we were graded as ‘Outstanding.’ Each year nearly 12,000
students pass through our doors - around 4,500 studying full time – on their way to successfully
completing their qualification.
You can find specialist facilities on all of our campuses with the Dacorum campus focusing on
construction courses and Kings Langley campus on engineering. Our largest campus is located in Watford
town centre and offers students the ideal place to study and socialise. We offer higher education
programmes through our partnership with University of Hertfordshire and we also run a range of Access to
Higher Education programmes at our Dacorum campus.
Our part-time provision varies from qualifications for career-changers and those looking to upskill
to professionals keeping up to date with regulation changes, as well as a vast array of leisure courses.
We work closely with local employers and community groups and offer courses at more than 30 community
venues, including a variety of professional courses and pre-employment training at Kings Court,
Intu Watford. We sponsor Francis Combe Academy and also have our Skills for Business team, who facilitate
apprenticeships and work-based learning.
We employ more than 500 full-time staff and our vocational focus means that many of our tutors have
genuine industry experience, allowing us to give our students a great college experience and the highest
chance of success.
West Herts College is a great alternative to university. You get to work in smaller groups and the tutors care about you as an individual. It’s a friendly place to study, with a great atmosphere.
