Former student returns to give talk on working as air cabin crew

Second year Travel & Tourism students were treated to an inspirational lesson recently, when a former student returned to College to explain what it's like to work as a member of air cabin crew for BA.

Nicola Chow completed her AVCE in Travel & Tourism last summer and since then her feet have barely touched the ground.

Soon after completing her course Nicola was selected to join BA's five-week intensive training program at Heathrow airport and came to speak to the students just a few days after returning from her first flight to Madrid.

Dressed in full uniform, Nicola shared her experiences of training to work as air cabin crew with the class of students currently considering embarking on similar careers.

She said: The College course and its reputation definitely helped me get the job. I found the job advert on BA's website just as I was leaving College and my tutors helped me apply. At interview stage it was great to be able to draw on College experiences and what I'd learnt from them.

If you're thinking about working as air cabin crew you need to take into consideration that the training is hard work. It was like two years of studying at College packed into a five-week training programme.
